Bhayshul Tuten & More Week 6 Fantasy Football Breakouts
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by UNest.
Week 6 felt like a “FINALLY!” kind of week.
Bhayshul Tuten—despite the fantasy gods once again conspiring against him—found the end zone twice and is currently sitting as the RB3 on the week.
Hell, even Travis Hunter (4-59-1) FINALLY got some burn on the right side of the field.
Kyle Pitts—who had only one game over 7 points heading into the week—popped off for 20.5 points thanks to a couple of sick plays.
Germie Bernard—the waiver wire darling we gushed about on Tuesday who was parked behind Roman Wilson for too long—caught 11 balls for 87 yards and the game-winning TD.
Omar Cooper—the Jets’ Round 1 rookie WR—returned from an IR stint and immediately led the Jets with a 6-103-1 line.
And lastly, the Los Angeles Chargers FINALLY got their first win of the season.
Just kidding.
They fell to 0-6 after a loss to the Chiefs and are now pacing for the first overall pick along with the winless Dolphins (0-5).
Fortunately for Los Angeles, their other squad got the job done vs. the Cardinals.
Shoot, sorry—I have that wrong, too. They lost to the Cardinals at home and their new 5-foot-7, 156-pound kicker got truck-sticked on a return. Oof.
Other teams/players who had rough days:
- Daniel Jones and the Colts, who got beat by the Titans.
- The Ravens, who blew a double-digit lead to the Browns.
- Cam Skattebo, who didn’t get a single carry but was also definitely not benched wink, wink.
- Davante Adams (leg), Ladd McConkey (concussion), Dalton Kincaid (ribs, returned to game) and Romeo Doubs (shoulder) all got injured.
Here’s a full recap of the action…

Bank on Drake Maye’s Rise to Stardom
For all the people who a year ago were calling Drake Maye a sleeper, who could have predicted a near-MVP season? After passing for 4,394 yards and 31 TDs, adding in 450 rushing yards and 4 scores, and finishing tied for fourth with 20.4 fantasy points per game, Maye has risen the ranks to superstar status. Now he just got A.J. Brown added to the WR room. He’ll be 24, is projected for another big year and forward-thinking fantasy managers can see Maye as a QB they can count on for years to come.

Early Week 6 Waiver Wire: Omar Cooper Has Arrived
Where have you been Omar Cooper? Fantasy football nation has been awaiting your arrival on the scene. And did he ever. Cooper led the Jets with targets (7), receptions (6) and yards (103). He even added a TD for good measure.
Fantasy managers having a need at WR because of byes, injuries or ineffectiveness, get ready to spend at least some FAAB. Cooper is one of the headliners of what could be a tepid waiver wire week, but there is at least some value here. ⤵️

Week 6 Winners/Losers: Germie Bernard is Clutch
What’s that about Aaron Rodgers not trusting young wide receivers? In a game the Steelers trailed by 13 points in the fourth quarter, the veteran QB led a comeback with rookie Germie Bernard doing the heavy lifting to the tune of 11 catches for 87 yards and scoring the game-winning TD in overtime. Bernard’s arrival was one of the highlights of Week 7.
