Week 6 Quarterback Streamers For Fantasy Football: Throw In With Kirk Cousins
Adam Pfeifer delivered the quarterback streamers for fantasy football heading into Week 6.
With bye weeks not slowing down anytime soon, finding viable streaming options is crucial.
Speaking of, I’m serving as a Week 6 streaming option myself, filling in this week. I’ll be highlighting some interesting streamers for all four main positions, giving you players you can plug into your lineup if you are dealing with bye weeks and/or injuries. Keep an eye on our fantasy football rankings and fantasy football projections to get further confirmation why these players are targets.
Let’s start with the signal-callers.
Quarterback Streamers for Week 6 Fantasy Football
Kirk Cousins vs Buffalo Bills
Perhaps we crowned the Raiders a bit too early. But if their defense isn't as good as we thought, they should be throwing quite a bit.
Cousins came back down to Earth on Sunday, throwing for 243 yards and 1 touchdown in a blowout loss. We finally saw Fernando Mendoza’s NFL debut, though it was in garbage time and won’t impact Cousins’ starting role for Week 6. He could be dropping back 40-plus times against the Bills, who should be able to put plenty of points on the board.
And the pass defense hasn’t been anything to fear.
I’m writing this prior to Monday’s game, but through their first four contests Buffalo’s secondary has been one to attack. The Bills are allowing an 1.1% explosive pass rate, a bottom-3 mark in the league, while also ranking bottom-5 in EPA/play. Their pass rush is improved, but when they don't generate pressure things can go south quickly. When a quarterback isn’t pressured, the Bills are coughing up 10.8 yards per completion, 9.5 air yards per attempt and a 7.5% passing touchdown rate.
C.J. Stroud vs Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
Stroud has quietly been very solid in games with Nico Collins active. In fact, in those three games, Stroud is averaging a healthy 20.1 fantasy points per game, posting finishes of QB16, QB5 and QB11 (pending MNF). Overall Stroud is simply playing better so far this season, ranking top 12 in passer rating and yards per attempt. He’s been aggressive, too, as 17.7% of his passes have traveled 20-plus yards down the field, the fifth-highest rate in the NFL.
The Texans are likely going to rely on Stroud’s arm again this Sunday in London. Houston already struggles to run the football and now will likely be without David Montgomery against the best run defense in the league. The Jaguars haven’t allowed a running back to reach 75 rushing yards in 22 consecutive games, as they remain a massive pass funnel. So far this season, a whopping 80.6% of the yards surrendered by Jacksonville have come through the air, the highest rate in the NFL.
Jameis Winston vs New Orleans Saints
It’s always a roller coaster starting Winston in fantasy, but in favorable matchups, he can still possess a ceiling. He just threw for 326 yards and 3 touchdowns against Washington (yes, 54 pass attempts helped) and now the Giants host a struggling Saints team that is allowing the third-most points per drive in the NFL (2.75), while opposing offenses are scoring touchdowns on 32.7% of drives against New Orleans this season, the third-highest rate.
